Our Story

POWERED BY POLLEN WASN’T BORN IN A BOARDROOM. IT WAS BORN FROM A REALISATION.

We’re Jason Ward and Tom Husbands, co-founders of Powered by Pollen. Between us, we’ve spent over half a century at the helm of award-winning global agencies - partnering with ambitious brands across diverse and complex industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Business Technology and Life Sciences.

We loved what we did. We loved who we did it with. And we valued the clients we partnered with.

But as agency networks grew larger, something began to thin out. The culture that once defined them - the very thing that made them great - started to dilute.

We saw talent stretched too thin. Service reduced to transactions. Personality and joy replaced by scale and speed.

And we saw that clients were ultimately paying the price.

We founded Powered by Pollen for organisations that shouldn’t have to choose between expertise and intimacy. For those who value culture as much as performance.

And yes – for ourselves too.

We wanted to build something intentional. To protect the culture that enables great work. To put our beliefs into action, rather than just talking about them.

ROOTED IN EXPERIENCE. DRIVEN BY INTENT.

THE FOUNDING PARTNERSHIP

Tom on Jason

“I think of Jason as the Swiss Army Knife of our industry.

He’s that rare, multi-talented operator who pairs strategic insight and operational oversight with genuine technical precision and creative instinct across multiple mediums.

His work ethic is infectious - he simply doesn’t stop until the output is right, and that standard lifts the rest of us with him. He’s the kind of partner every company wishes they had in their pocket - and exactly why our clients trust him implicitly.

Just don’t ask him about rugby unless you’ve cleared your diary - he’s still convinced his England call-up is coming any day now.”

Jason on Tom

"Our industry is a team game, and Tom brings a calm leadership and motivation that unifies our suppliers, partners, and clients. He’s always questioning, but with a curiosity that evokes collaboration over ego.

He’s often annoyingly right - though I’d never admit that to his face. I just know that I need him to lead that 'invisible art' of logistical detail; it can be the very thing that makes or breaks our success.”
